What is Home Watch?
According to the National Home Watch Association, Home Watch can be known as many names: absentee home service, property watch, house watch, house check, and others. But regardless of the name, it is a service in which a Home Watch professional performs scheduled inspections of unoccupied or vacant properties while the owner is away. It is a visual inspection to look for and report back on obvious issues, and to add a level of security to an unoccupied or vacant home.
The Home Watch inspections include checks of the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems; visual inspection of the overall condition of the building and property; and scans for indications of leaks, mold and pests. Problems could arise at event the shortest absence.
Should the Home Watch inspector find a problem, the property owner is notified immediately and either instructed or asked how to proceed to remediate the issue. Golden Rule Home Watch can help to schedule repairs, meet with and monitor the repairperson, and provide a report back to the property owner, as needed.
As a communication link, a Home Watch professional provides peace of mind to the property owners. Concierge tasks can also be requested, such as watering plants or preparing the home for the owners’ return.
